They both whinge too much. But at a push, nirvana were the better band.

I hate Billy Corgan and voted for his whiny ass band.

Nirvana had more groundbreaking music.

A couple of bands I grew up listening to.  This is easily a vote for The Pumpkins though.

Pretty equal and don't know the work of either beyond the obvious hits. I was going to vote for Nirvana but then remembered they appear to have nicked the Come As You Are riff from The Dammed, so went with the Pumpkins.

Punpkins are the band i return to more often.

Siamese Dream is superb. I also adore "Adore" - despite it being somewhat maligned in their cannon.

In Utero is great too mind....But Pumpkins edge it for me.

Hell yeah.

Tough call. Nirvana were certainly more influential but the Pumpkins obviously have had more longevity and have put out some stellar albums. I went with SP.

Never was a big Pumpkins fan.

Maybe it’s my loss.

I mean, I’m not judging anyone for voting Nirvana. That’s a solid pick, there.

If there's a tie maybe we should consider who won more Grammy's?

Nirvana is great. The Smashing Pumpkins are good.
