Time to play the game ????

I am half way through playing Metal Gear Solid 4, on the PS3. I think my last save, was dated August 2012 haha. Im not kidding.
I keep meaning to get back into playing the game. Heres the thing tho, I cheated to get to where i am in the game. For the first time ever, i used a walkthro guide to play the whole game. I feel thats cheating, so i might restart the game from scratch and only refer to guides if i get really stuck.
Heres another thing. Many people rave about the cut scenes in this game. I find them to be a pain, and i generally skip em. Am i missing out?

I always struggled with the Metal Gear games, mostly because they're more like movies than video games. I know the long cutscenes and crazy plots are just part of the series, but I could never get fully invested in it.

The first 3 MGS games are among my most loved games of all time. I must say, from what i recall,i do find the 4th game to be pretty full on, in terms of gameplay and the in depth cut scenes. Bit overly complex i reckon

Jet Force Gemini being released for Nintendo's online service is a dream come true. It's one of my favorite games but I held out little hope that would actually make an appearance. Looking forward to playing through it again when I get the time.
