Well… you can stack a pile of shit in front of me, no matter how big the pile is, it will always smell like shit to me.
I could come up with Blur songs that I find great but I really don’t see the point. You’re allowed not to like them one bit.
Back during the 90’s, I thought the Blur Vs Oasis feud was just a marketing tool to make them appear bigger than they were.
A rock critic that I like pinpoints the end of guitar oriented music as a driving force with the commercial rise of Oasis.
He basically says that, at that point in history, people got to choose between past and nostalgia (Oasis) or embrace the future (Blur) and they chose the past.
I’m just glad Damon Albarn was able to free himself from that, quite frankly, ridiculous and artificial feud and give us the gems he’s been producing since them (Gorillaz, Mali music, solo albums, etc…). Blur was his first incarnation and way to small a suit for his talent.
