I think this is the best article I’ve read in the past few weeks. I thought it deserved it’s own thread.

I love this quote:

"On the doorstep of 2018, what else is there to do but learn how to dance and kneel again?
"
And this!!!
(By the way, now that we’re all at the table together, can the band please stop charging $300 for a seat at the concert? Nobody loves that.)

Great article.  I do think U2 will be widely immortalized once they're gone.  It's almost as though right now, alive and present, they are almost too huge to get a perspective on.

Good point...No doubt in my mind they'll get more love generally when they are gone than they do now.

That'll be a great day when we're old and decrepit and you, An Tha, are getting all slobbery about Elevation and other tear-jerker U2 tunes  :o

There’s a part of me that is fearful of what will happen once they officially call it quits. U2 Legacy Inc. will be a marketing beast and no doubt I’ll be one big sucker buying everything they’ll put out.

Good stuff!  I'm sure the fact that I agree with most of what he writes makes me like it a bit more, but I really appreciate his open and personal approach to SOE.

I hate to be a spoilsport (I say that a lot here, I know) but I'm not sure this article is going to get anyone on board the U2 train.  If anything, the opposite.  Long winded, defensive, preachy in a way that U2 is preachy.

It reads as more of a defense by a superfan than anything else.

Sorry.  And I say that as someone who is very impressed with most of this new album, at least so far.
