I prefer the bass of Volcano, but had to go with the polish of AS.
The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

If I HAD to chose - Glastonbury.

All three suck tho.
What are we going to do now it's all been said.
No new ideas in the house and every book has been read.

I'd love to hear the "there's some things you just can't control" bit in the studio

American Soul.

I would've loved to have Glastonbury (with new lyrics) on SOI, but AS is pretty awesome, and larger than life in the right way. Volcano was a filler tune.
He wrote like wet paper mache, but then he went the lemmingway...

Yeah, Volcano for me as well. I like the music and the melody of the verses (and Edge does some interesting and subtle guitar stuff). AS is anything but subtle.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

American Soul.  It's the most obvious Trump related track.  I think there's a hidden reference in the song title as it can be abbreviated Asoul!

Reminds me of The Fly Vs Ultra Violet Vs Lady with the spinning head... Glastonbury being the equivalent of the Salomé tapes démo.

I don't think either Volcano nor American Soul is perfect, but I like AS more, although Volcano is my son's favorite U2 song !
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...
