If you go on this preview site of the Hi-Res Deluxe version of SOE, you can read the entire booklet.

Bono wrote explanations about the songs and the songwriting behind them. He talks about that brush with death last winter, but without any specifics. Anyways, it's a good read ahead of the album.

I can't see where to preview it...  probably for the best.  Trying to avoid all spoilers and leaks and have been successful so far.

I didn't listen to any leaks myself and I did not read the lyrics in the booklet. But Bono explaining where this album comes from is an interesting read ahead of listening to the full thing tonight.
