A line from a U2 song that you use frequently
« on: November 07, 2021, 01:20:20 PM »
It can be a line you say to someone or a line that pops up in your head in certain circumstances.

I’ll give you an example.

I like to make a fool of myself. Not much will stop me when I see an opportunity for a good laugh. My teenage kids sometimes cringe. And when they do, I’ll say « the right to be ridiculous is something I hold dear ».

If we are at the ocean I can never help saying to DD “every breaking wave… on the shore… tells the next one there’ll be one more” and she is wracked with agony because it’s an earworm for her.

Dad jokes. They’re for Moms too.

The only U2 line I've ever used - and I haven't used it since the '90s - is "I can't change the world/but I can change the world in me."

Looking to fill that god shaped hole - I know Bono got this by reading "Pascal's Wager", but still a great line

Glad you got something out of it. I don't know how familiar you are with Eddie's career, but what he accomplished from age 15 to age 30 should put him in some sort of musical hall of fame.

Seriously. Seems like every time I'm getting into another progressive rock band his name pops up somewhere.

That was a good article. I love reading about what the pros have learned and how they pursue their craft. I always learn something new.
