I disagree.

I think a ?legendary? list would go something like this:

TJT
R?H
AB

I just don?t believe anyone cares much about the songs that aren?t singles on their other records. I do. In fact, I always preferred the deep cuts. Here are albums that defo aren?t ?legendary? but are, nevertheless, excellent:

October
War
TUF, pride notwithstanding
Zooropa
SOE

R and H legendary?

Are you drunk or something?

legendary-level cringe

Additionally, MS went top ten in many countries, so I?d call it a hit. Apart from Canada because they have no taste.

MS did not chart in the Top 10 anywhere.  Prove me wrong.

Also, in the previous story it was my wife's friend and her husband who claimed to be 'massive U2 fans, and yet had never heard of OS1 or the band who made it called Passengers.

Australia > 7
Belgium > 3
Brazil > 7
Finland > 5
France > 8
Ireland (where U2 claim to be from) > 4
Italy > 3
Netherlands > 5
UK > 6

America isn?t the centre of the freekin? universe. North Korea is the daddy. Altho it didn?t chart there, either.

N Korea is where I would like to retire.

As for those chart positions, I am definitely surprised.  Kudos for proving me wrong.

Scarily, it is only two weeks, until October album gets its usual couple of spins, on Oct 1st , (like every year.) Where the heck has this year gone?

I do find myself giving the title track a spin around this time of year, but not the entire album.
"There's nothing wrong with U2. As far as I'm concerned, I've stolen from Larry Mullen's career for years. Without Larry, I wouldn't be able to stomp and sing, it'd be difficult. I mean I owe debts to the Bhundu Boys, Larry Mullen, Stewart Copeland. They're good players, and they're great songwriters" - Gary "Reni" Wren, drummer, The Stone Roses reunion press conference, 18/10/2011

"I'd just like to put on record that that's bobbins" - Ian Brown, singer, ditto

R&H is one of my favorites.  Don't quite consider it legendary but for the type of album it is, it couldn't have been any greater.

It is the 1st of October, which means it is D-day here. Im on the first of my usual TWO back to back listenes of October album.
And l feel so great, getting transferred back to my early teens, chilling with my best pal (still is to this day), as we listened to the october Album, in his cosy, central heated bedroom....as it would be quite stormy and raw autumnal weather, in the Highlands Of Scotland.

If i have time, i like to squeeze in one listen to TUF album too, which was released on this day, 41 years ago.

In my crazy, routine driven world, all this, is the kind of start of the build up to Xmas and New year.
