October benefits from being a subtle, nuanced record that isn’t obsessed with singles. It’s in my top 5 favourite u2 albums. The best bits of War are more like October.

Rejoice is as good as anything in their early output IMO.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

Scarlett
Threw A brick
Is that all.......as well as all those listed above. For me, the only weak link on the album, is Fire. I have never been into that song much.
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I’d agree. I could never understand why they rereleased Fire recently either

Saturday Night is better than Fire, but I think Fire is alright. But yeah it's probably the least good song on the album.

This was the first U2 record which I bought on first day of release.

Fire is a bit of a dud, Rejoice and With a Shout are a bit cheesy also.

Rest of the album is good and still holds up well today. I'd still pick it over most of the 2000s stuff, definitely over SOE, HTDAAB and ATYCLB.

Lock Him Up. Preferably with that dried up old whore qe2.

Its HERE!!! The Day has arrived. it is officially October Day, the day where I gather round my hi fi and listen to the hugely under appreciated masterpeice from u2.
I shall be listening to it a few times, later this afternoon
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

My October listening Party has begun. I will listen to the album at least twice. I cant believe it is this time of the year again. January took an eternity to pass, but the rest of the year has flown by.
