Introduce A Song Per Day
« on: June 16, 2021, 03:41:18 PM »
This thread is to introduce a new song each day. Let’s leave it to 1 song per day so songs don’t get lost in a string of posts. Let’s introduce new music people don’t know yet or older tracks that aren’t typically played on radio or well known.

June 16

Bleachers ft Bruce Springsteen - Chinatown

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t really follow new music and I only found this one because Bruce is on it, but what a damn good song. Bruce is more background then featured but this is a pop song done really well. I wish U2 would listen to it and do something like this instead of the Ryan Tedder stuff. Found it this morning and can’t stop playing it.

Jealousy, it's not what it's cracked up to be
Envy, gets you where you need to be

This is 'Meet The End' (Live Version) by Kanadia from their self titled 2019 album.

I am all over this album right now and this 7 min gem is one of my favourites - i just love the feel of it and the soundscape.

My fave Diary Of Dreams song, about 5-1/2 years old now. Adrian Hates has one of my fave baritone voices. Sung in German.

From Paris with Love - Melody Gardot

One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, and the story of its recording is quite interesting as well.  This was made during early quarantine, and Melody Gardot wanted a full orchestral arrangement but couldn't really bring an orchestra together.  She was also aware that many professional musicians were having trouble finding work, so she put out a call on social media for submissions for parts for this new song.  She received hundreds of submissions from musicians across the globe, most of whom were fans I believe, and then edited this together with her producer.  I think it's really cool that fans got to play on her record, and the final product is stunning imo.

Ceremony by Galaxie 500

It comes from a brilliant album "On Fire" that was released right at the end of the 80's in late 1989.

If you like a bit of dream pop then check the album out...it is full of melodic tracks with great guitar tones like this.

Look Mum No Computer is a Youtube channel specializing in vintage synthesizers, but the the guy who runs it is also a pretty damn good singer/songwriter, based on this original song he just posted today. Fuck, I want a whole album of this right the fuck n0w.

This came out last week, and was all over my "recommended for you" on Youtube the last couple of days. I didn't care that much for it, but maybe some of y'all will.

It is a bit more nuanced than their usual southern rock/blues rock - although i did enjoy their album 'rockisdead'
