It's growing on me. It's the most blatant U2-channelling-Coldplay yet, and for the first time, they're actually as good at it as Coldplay, and I think it'll sound good in stadiums, but it doesn't have any artistry to it at all. At least it's not blatantly embarrassing.

It’s basically the same thing as a modern u2 song. Producer creates abysmal music around increasingly uninteresting guitar work from edge while Bono waffles on about unity for the billionth time. The fact that Adam and Larry aren’t in it is irrelevant.

Either way, it’s freakin awful.

It's a proper U2 song (whatever that really means these days when pop music is produced so vastly differertly than it was when U2 was in its heyday), and it's marginal. Not crap, not good...just on schedule, as described, and fit for intended purpose.
Hold on, people! The man's talking about waste management. That affects the whole damn planet.

Not a u2 song. It is grim, but its the sort of garb that Bono seems to be wanting to churn out.
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I don’t think it’s 100% a U2 song but I voted U2/crap.

The way I see it, Martin made some sounds and instead of calling Chris, he called Bono.

Bono was ecstatic that somebody in their 20s could push him out in front of those pop kids he didn’t need.

He then immediately took Martin’s baby and ran with it. (Idgaf about these mixed metaphors).

Martin dealt with the baby snatching and here we are today.

Every producer in the Anglophone world watched from the water cooler and smirked. Martin will be welcomed into the fold if he does anything else with Bono, but thus far his innocence has not yet been taken brutally from him.

I don't HATE it but I won't be adding it to my U2 playlist.

I do hate the IDEA of it. It's "Europe is an idea" x10 and it's about as embarrassing in that vein as "America is an idea"

It’s a guest appearance on someone else’s song, and OK as such. But it’s not the thing Bedge should be doing at this stage in their career, at least not when all they are about is chasing relevancy. If they had a more Springsteen-esque career this could have been an unusual and fun appearance in the Kid’s world.

- No, this is a Martin Garrix song, which features Bono (and maybe Edge) and it's very average and simply works as incidental music in TV coverage.

Not relevant to U2.

I was just listening to "In the name of love" a collaboration of Garrix featuring Bebe Rexha. The song's genre according to Wikipedia is "a future bass song, which contains a combination of piano, bass, and guitar strums [which] provide percussion". It is a kind of similar approach to this one. So it is a Garrix song with a U2 vibe because Bono sings, Edge plays guitar and they were involved in the writing of the music and lyrics.
