Kinda odd to hear U2 were there with full management and legal team.

I like the story of Bruce Springsteen showing up to the We Are The World sessions in L.A. All the other artists arrive in limos with management, entourage, etc... Bruce, the biggest rock star in the world at the time, pulls up alone in a 'Vette.

The Simpsons and U2: two of my favorite things.

I grew up watching the show (much to my mom's chagrin, not exactly an appropriate show for a 10 year old to watch!) and remember all of the episodes with musical guests. At the time, I either didn't know who U2 was or didn't care. Same with the episodes they did with The Who, Aerosmith, Tom Petty etc. It was nice re-watching those after I became a fan of the music and picked up on all of the references to songs within the episodes.

The U2 episode, in particular, is a favorite of mine. The episode itself is a lot of fun, many quotable lines, interesting story line and Steve Martin is great as Ray Patterson. U2's role in the episode just adds to the funniness--the fact that Homer gets beat up during an empowering song like "Pride" is hilarious. And Adam's weird obsession with spoons? A funny little touch.
