U2's best stand alone song
« on: March 27, 2021, 04:14:28 AM »
All of these songs had official videos. But were not on official new material albums. Except TGBHF which was on a few of ATYCLB. Don't believe any were B sides either.

Some good songs here.

Poll can be added to.

You forgot Ahimsa and I think it has a shot at winning this.

You could add "I Believe in Father Christmas".

For me, it's between Stateless and HMTMKMKM.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Since ZooAdam said we can add to the poll, I'll add HMTMKMKM for you, and I think I'll add Disappearing Act, too. But I'm still voting for Stateless.

HMTMKMKM was on there.

I love 6 of these songs. I want to vote for Night And Day, but it's a cover.

...fuck, this is hard. Going with Electrical Storm, but this could just as easily be HMTMKMKM, Window In The Skies, Invisible, or TGBHF.

A handful or so of contenders here.  I ultimately went with The Ground Beneath Her Feet.

Definately enough songs for a greatest stand alone songs album. Oasis did something similar. After two albums!

Casual or non fans that bought it would hear new classics.

U2 missed a trick in not releasing an album or Songs of Orchestra.

Yes, except for Ahimsa (my opinion) this list could be a good album.

Im torn between Stateless and A Celebration. Just missing out is Disappearing Act
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I disagree with Miss Sarajevo being on the list. Whether OS1 is a U2 album or not, Miss Sarajevo is part of it, not standalone.

It is the best song here, bur I went with Stateless for that reason.

I was wondering how long it would take you to point that out.  ;D
