they just arent as strong as they used to be so no one really gives a fuck. also streaming killed interest in albums.

There's tons of good bands out there and I have no trouble finding new music to listen to, or new albums to buy.

Maybe the guardian isn't looking hard enough.

Iíll say this : when I was in my 20ís, a band was the best way to get music done played and shared. You were very dťpendant on other people.

Iím in my 40ís and I donít need anyone to do everything, thanks to technology. I can do it myself. Sure Iím lacking outside input but I can achieve way more than back then.

Itís a change of culture.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Not really bothered one or way or another on this. Personally, I think that the post-pandemic world's going to spawn a massive wave of bands. Maybe not guitar-driven bands, but does that really matter if the songs are good?

I agree about there being loads of great bands out there. I hear plenty, every week. BUT, i think maybe the article is referring to bands in the mainstream? All the top/most talked about artists today, from what i see, seem to be solo acts. They seem to dominate
