I bought So in 1986.  A cool album.  I also like Solsbury Hill and It's a Knockout.

"BOOM BOOM BOOM You can keep my things, they've come to take me home".

Just wonderful; fascinating song.

I started to listen to Peter Gabriel way before U2 came to me in 83. Always loved him.

He's been much better on his own than with Genesis...they sort of hid him, in my opinion.

One of my favorite musicians, easily.

Not a fan of the first 2 albums (not a fan of PG Genesis albums, either...).
I discovered him with So. There are SO many things I love about this album... don’t know where to start. There was an excellent reissue with « DNA » mixes which consists of an edit of différent versions of each song, from bits and pieces of demos, rough mixes, experiments... not something you’d listen to everyday but a fascinating way to explore how an artist builds a song. I can only dream of U2 doing the same...

Sadly, I missed the « Secret World » tour, which is probably one of the greatest tours ever :

https://youtu.be/oUG62JTkbe4

But I saw the « Growing Up » tour and it was really splendid.

PG is also one of the very few artists who indulges into nostalgia with grace : his orchestra versions of his old hits (+ covers) are really good.

I have nothing but respect for him (and I didn’t even mentioned Real World, Womad...).
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

i have the 3rd self-titled, So and Us. i like them all but dont listen to them nearly as much as i should.

As for Genesis i've never heard of his Genesis stuff, just the Collins stuff.

That’s like saying you’ve only heard post-Pop U2.  ;D
