In here we worship the R&H album, not the movie.

All I want is the good.

First Chair. Last Call.

Did someone say HAWKMOON? Even if every other song on this album sucked (which they do not), it would be worth it all just for Hawkmoon. BOOM BOOM.

The album in between the heavy hitters.  A top 3 U2 album for me.

Heartland, Hawkmoon, and AIWIY are heavyweights.

Not a song here that I don't like.

At some point I need to fix up VDL to cut the crap from either end - but sadly, I don't have my editing software anymore.

It makes for a very solid studio album.

3 hits and live favorites to this day.

Hidden gems beginning with the letter H.

One attempt at building a new sound that will lead to the next decade (God Part II).

Also the album that taught me how to play guitar.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Historically speaking, i have always really enjoyed the Album *and movie........... But unlike the movie, I am now kind of over the live versions of the songs on the albums. To my ear, they have always sounded like they were speeded up. Using Pride and Silver and gold as examples, i find the much slower tempos of the studio versions, to be much more my thing. Usually, im all about the live versions.
That said, i do really like the Tempe version of Pride, from December 1987. Its not as rushed as the R&H version

You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Some good songs on here, u2 were loud and proud and never questioned why their house was green

The most varied album I have ever heard. Or rather 'double album'.

Studio songs, covers, covers of their own songs, live songs.

Released to keep U2 touring until the end of the decade before the 90's reinvention.

Lots to enjoy.

I don't listen to full albums anymore. So, when I return to that era I either watch the film or listen to specific songs, usually Hawkmoon, Love rescue me, Heartland. Not that I don't like the others. I just don't really miss them.

I actually prefer his worn out cracked voice now. It’s more soulful. I just wish he’d stop trying to pretend he can sing like he used to.
