I couldn't stand the thought of modern day u2 re-recording Pop.

It would be an absolute clusterfuck.

Everything would be clean and sparkly and lightweight and all the edges would be polished and worse of all modern day Bono would be yelping all over the songs, almost certainly pushed hideously front of mix.
