Of the list, I guess I'd have to choose Coldplay for its first two albums of the century.

With the freedom to choose any band, I don't think it's possible to pick one not named Radiohead. From Kid A to A Moon Shaped Pool, there isn't a bad one in the bunch. Some may object to King of Limbs—it is naturally the most disagreeable in Radiohead's discography—but calling that a clunker doesn't change the fact Kid A is one of the most critically lauded records of all time, and In Rainbows is the album Coldplay wish it could have made in the previous decade.

Radiohead are so far ahead of the rest it isn't even remotely close.

Them not being on the voting list when the likes of the fucking Killers, Oasis (is that a joke them being on it) and Coldplay are is in my view ridiculous.

I can't even begin to entertain an argument for Oasis being in the running for best band of this century - its on a par with calling Rocky 5 the best of the Rocky films....

Had to look up Beck's work - 7 albums since 2000, pretty prolific.

I surprised myself a bit and voted for Coldplay even though they did lose me about halfway through or thereabouts.  Really like the 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' album in particular.  I actually almost voted for U2 and wouldn't exactly place this era's output as my favourite time period for them.  On the whole, I'm not overly fond of this century for music.
