The Blackout (Jacknife Lee remix)
« on: November 24, 2017, 04:24:19 AM »
Got it! Just out of store, now in train. I will listen to it in an hour. I thought for a minute they sold the extremely rare version (what wasn't possible). But it was the inner sleeve which is standard white, haha

Have you heard it already (or did you also get the vinyl)? What do you think?

Which store? If it was Rough Trade, we must have passed each other. Mission accomplished!

It was in Utrecht  ;)

The walk out on the A side says "... in the darkness where you learn to see" and the AA side says "... the light that we can really be"

If you liked the Lemon remixes, you might like this. Jacknife Lee apparently didn't like the verses. I think that part (from a minute before 'go easy on me') is pretty nice

So I'm the proud owner of the limited Blackout. Just wish there was more to differentiate it from the standard on the exterior. You can just see a tiny glimpse of white / black and really have to rely on the sticker.

Nice! You've got the eclipse?  ;D

If you want to show it on a wall, you could buy a transparant sleeve.

This will remain sealed. I have a nasty streak of dropping / creasing records that I've just bought so wish me luck as I now have to face the tube and then drive home with my precious package.

Aha, waiting for it's gonna be worth a lot of money?  ;) does it has higher cost than the normal version?

Good luck!

Well it is £35 retail. But bids online have already got to over £150. I have no plans to sell though and just like collecting and preserving U2 releases.

It's damn good - not a single but a club track. Got an eighties club feel to it

I think this would have blown peoples mind if they went down this route for the album

He defo must have not liked the chorus given it doesn't even appear in the track

Got a copy of the "standard" version from my local vinyl emporium. Love the track now I've had a good few listens and the remix, well, not really in to 'em ... it's fun but I'd have prefered a b-side or even "live" take of the song from the Facebook video. If it was a live performance ... or whatever. Yeah I've got it! Love it!

Incidentally, on ebay the standard version seems to be fetching about £30 - I paid £20 for it new - and the limited to 750 version is going for anywhere between £200 and £600! Like tickets to concerts, we get scalpers in record collecting too ..

I just this minute bought a copy in Leeds for £13.99 ... I have no idea which version... it's currently raining like it was for Roundhay Park PopMart 97 show and I'm waiting for the bus
