Radiohead's best album in my opinion and one of the best albums ever made.

20 years old on Friday.

There will be loads of stuff to read about it over coming days, but I liked this related Top 100 Radiohead tracks article for now.

Good read.

Interestingly this outlet was one of the few (maybe the only?) of those online review publications to not give A Moon Shaped Pool a glowing assessment.  I believe they mentioned something about a few sullen embers where once a mighty fire had raged.

AMSP is in my book a fantastic record.

Indeed.

I find it hard to rank Radiohead albums as i think they are all great, but Kid A leads the way for me.

I shall give Kid A a listen today. I like it and Amnesiac quite a lot
In the garden I was playing the tart

You

As a follow-up to OK Computer, Kid A is really incredible. I mean, Ok was so much loved and put on a pedestal by pretty much everyone on the planet. How do you recover from such a success ? How do you keep the creativity ball rolling ? Kid A is the perfect response to that. Keep exploring.

Most creative album from Radiohead ? Probably. The best ? I don't think so. I think In Rainbows and Moon Shaped pool are much more representative of what Radiohead are about. They combine elements from the poppy side and the experimental side of Radiohead.

I also remember many people being disappointed, thinking Radiohead had gone crazy with that move. I remember a reporter asking Edge : "what advice would you give radiohead ?" as if they'd done something wrong. Edge replied "I would give them no other advice than to keep doing what they're doing, as I'm a fan.'
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Kid A was the first Rh album i bought day of release. it's amazing. not their best <nothing will ever beat OK Computer>but a damn solid fuck-you-well-do-what-we-want release. Amazing that they didn't promote it at ALL <remember, there were no singles and no tour for this and only an appearance on SNL>. THIS is the swagger that they never lost.

1. OK Computer
2. Kid A
3. The Bends
4. Amnesiac
5. Hail to the Thief
6. A Moon Shaped Pool
7. In Rainbows
8. Pablo Honey
9. King of Limbs

Hard to argue IMO against them being the greatest band in the world over the last 25 years.

The album where they lost me. Bought it the day it came out and listened to it twice. The first time, all I could say when it finished was "are they fuckin' kidding?" I listened to it again immediately and was just laughing when it ended. Bye, dudes.

I did like In Rainbows (although I haven't listened to it in a decade), and AMSP had some really cool stuff on it, but I've been done with them for...well, 20 years now. When I do listen to them these days, it's always The Bends or OKC.

correct. and they SO seldom tour, esp. in Dallas TX. i hate that. ive been a mega fan since 97 and i only got the chance to see them in 2012 with that atrocious KOL tour. i mean the tour was great but the KOL album SUCKED.
