Their vinyl catalogue
« on: November 22, 2017, 02:28:01 PM »
http://modern-vinyl.com/2017/05/04/pressing-story-why-building-a-full-u2-vinyl-collection-is-almost-impossible/

Apologies if this has been linked before. Thought this was an interesting article from someone who knows what's up and looks a little deeper into the vinyl situation. Strange they continue to hold back on the 90s repressings.

Good article that mirrors many of my own thoughts. The only albums I'm missing are AB-ATYCLB and there's no way I'm paying hundreds for them or settling for a bootleg. It's baffling that the band hasn't realized the cash cow they're sitting on. Just the vinyl reissue of AB alone would be massive.

Good article- feel like i could have written it after I've been trying to build my u2 vinyl collection.  I'm still missing Pop, ATYCLB and No Line.  Unfortunately I bought bootlegs of AB and Zooropa in Camden market.

Bloody Camden! I'm at peace with not having all the U2 albums on vinyl released before I was a fan. But I am kicking myself for not getting NLOTH.

I'm missing that one, too. Once I found it for €50,- on discogs.com. The seller would be taking pictures of it that day. A half hour later he e-mailed me again: someone other buyed it....

I got them all

I bought NLOTH on Amazon for about £30 about 2-3 years ago.

The hardest the find was HTDAAB which my best friend bought me for my birthday. I dread to think what he paid for it.

And to get ATYCLB I sold a misprinted and extremely sought after version of Revolver by The Beatles.

Pop was the best and by accident.

Someone posted a job lot on EBay of Boy through to Achtung Baby titled U2 Vinyl Collection (I already had all these albums) but I noticed a little silver corner after Achtung Baby. I bought the lot for £40. That collection is worth £40 any day of the week. Sure enough when it all arrived there was a mint copy of 'Pop'.

Now I have spare copies of Boy-Achtung.

Also I never realised how rare Achtung Baby has become both copies I had also have the nude Adam image on the back which was apparently withdrawn

You have an Achtung Baby without the Adam nude? I thought all Vinyl are with it only a few CD versions were censored.

Im needing Zooropa, Pop, ATYCLB and NLOTH to complete my collection. I have no interest in Bootlegs or unnoficial pic discs etc. Im only interested in official releases :)

Does the new Bomb version count as 'official'?

I only need No Line and Original Soundtrack. If you only count official version, then Zooropa, ATYCLB and Bomb belong in that list

Yes the new Bomb is official and it sounds pretty good.

I have all of them except ATYCLB and Passengers (if it counts). Though my Zooropa is a bit scratchy but playable.

Ditto. A record shop out in Pittsburgh had a copy of ATYCLB for $40. Because I had already spent money on other vinyl that trip and owned the CD version, I balked at paying this. I regret it.

I had it with a €60 Pop version. I have now one :).

I was afraid of having this feeling if I didn't buy the SOE Deluxe LP. So I hope it was the right choice  ;D

I have most of the early albums that are original.  Not in the best of shape however.
