Those were the days.

How do the songs sound?  Played fast and punk or just as on the record?

He called them a "punk band"...maybe that's where Bono got the idea...

It's a decent quality bootleg, the songs are pretty much the same because the album was recorded & they were promoting it before it's release. Bono gets heckled by the audience & gets a bit angry with them

Here is the Electric Co recorded live at the Lyceum Ballroom 5 days before this show on September 7, 1980.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNX95XM_v7I

Its one of the earliest U2 live performances on video available. Only the January 15, 1980 performance of Story For Boys is earlier in terms of live video. Other earlier video is does not appear to be a real live performance.

Oh, they were so magnificent...the youthfulness, the energy, the passion. I've seen it before, but thanks for posting it again, wons.

Did you notice their backdrop for this show looks like pipes shaped to form U2?

"Scarborough Fair" is one the classic folk songs. Just thought I'd say that.

The Stone Roses sort of covered it.

I think, I hope, we all know it. Quite a few have "covered" it in our lifetimes. I think you were the one who posted one by the Medieval Babes? I added that one to my library.

How i would have loved to have been at an early u2 show. It would have been a real claim to fame. I just ADORE the rawness and the energy of the band back then. I keep meaning to go to u2 start and download an early days bootleg i used to have on Cassette, back in the early 80s. It was Paradise Theatre (Boston) I think. such a great gig. Hearing it again will take me back to my early teenage years. For some reason, i always associate Sunday evenings, with listening to this gig.

Very rare performance of A day without me.
This must of been around the same time definitely before Boy was released

This is my favorite recording from that period. I absolutely love this show.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...
