Re-sequence a U2 album
« on: August 17, 2020, 03:20:35 PM »
Take any U2 album whose song order you don't like and shuffle the songs around to make it something you like better. You're allowed to drop up to 2 songs. You can replace one of them with a B-side or unreleased song from the same sessions/era, or just leave that slot blank.

Boy

Stories For Boys
Twilight
An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart
Out Of Control
The Ocean
11 O'Clock Tick Tock
I Will Follow
Another Time Another Place
The Electric Co.
Shadows And Tall Trees

I'd still make IWF the first single - I just don't like where it sits on the album, and I never have. ADWM's just garbage, and it wouldn't be missed. I don't know if I'd have The Ocean ending side 1, or beginning side 2.

Great idea. For me, the main subjects are NLOTH and SOI.

I will just add that I would turn Bomb into a nice little single. Side A: SYCMIOYO. Side B: Vertigo.

Same.

I would even re-sequence with better mixes in some instances, if allowed.  :D

Here is what I have for NLOTH but it's not right. I'm not sure what else to put in, and it gets kind of drifty in the middle.

Fez
NLOTH
Magnificent
Moment of Surrender
Unknown Caller
Soon
White as Snow
Breathe
Cedars

Not too creative, I know. I also nominate Crazy Tonight to be the B side to MOS, and Boots to be the song we've never even heard of.

Yeah, I could do that!

Or I could have 6:19 of silence there.

If only you'd taken same stance with Magnificent and that that one about booting yourself or something.

I'd be willing to edit out the middle third of Move to Trash but Sunshine and Edge Ascension stays.

Great idea. For me, the main subjects are NLOTH and SOI.

I will just add that I would turn Bomb into a nice little single. Side A: SYCMIOYO. Side B: Vertigo.

You got the opener and the closer right but I don't think it's humanly possible to get the part in between right.  The songs are awkward - if only they made a few more appropriate songs they could have left a few off.  Both Winter and WaS deserve to be on the album but it would have been topic overkill.
