What are the songs from each album period, that you have never heard live, but would love to hear? You can include non album songs/b sides too, as long as they are from that same period. You can even include songs like Love Is Blindness, if you have only ever heard them on one tour.

My list goes a bit like this.

Boy: 11 O Clock Tick Tock
October: Tomorrow
War: Drowning Man or Like A Song
TUF: Promenade
Joshua Tree: Deep In The Heart
Rattle And Hum: Hawkmoon 269
Achtung Baby: Acrobat
Zooropa: Dirty Day
Pop: Please (Heard it on the Popmart tour, but it qualifies under the only played on one tour rule)
ATYCLB: Cant think of one right now
HTDAAB: Crumbs From YOur Table
NLOTH: White As Snow
SoI: California
SoE: Book Of Your Heart

In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Some of these have been played more than one tour but I've never heard them, and they would be at the top of my wish list.

Boy - Electric Co or 11 O'Clock
October - Brick
War - Refugee is the rare one but I need 40!!
TUF - ASOH or TUF
TJT - Exit
R&H - Heartland
AB - i've heard everything except So Cruel but I'd like Love is Blindness again
Zooropa - Zooropa or a version of Dirty Day without the wanking
Pop - Miami if I had a time machine, Please or WUDM if I don't
ATYCLB - IALW
HTDAAB - SYCMIOYO if Bono can do it, nothing otherwise. I already heard COBL and Vertigo.
NLOTH - Cedars or MOS
SOI - California
SOE - RFD, I reaalllly wanted this one or GLORIA but I got motherfucking ABOY instead ughhhh.

RFD and Gloria were wonderful at my E&I show. But, damn, you reminded me that I forgot 40 on my list.

Fez is also a studio track. I was envisioning a little tweaking on Cedars, but Fez is more instrumental so I think it would be harder to preserve the sounds that make it great without basically just playing a recording. Which. Yeah, they would do that.

I also wanted to add that The Crystal Ballroom would be received extremely well by my fam. Even my H would be down for that one.

I think of all those wonderful studio recordings - the definitive versions of the songs - and then I imagine Bono vocally butchering them on stage.  It must be incredibly frustrating to be an ageing vocalist.  An ageing musician can still make their instruments sound the way they want them to sound, but a singer just can't make their voice sound the way they'd like.

I agree.

And I, too, don't want any of these butchered.

But at E+I we still got really ni e Gloria performances and others. He can still (or at least could still) do a credible job on many songs.

But Hawkmoon is firmly in the past.

So is God Pt II.   And Heartland.

I know, on Heartland. I couldn't think of anything else on R&H. I thought there was some chance he maaaaaybe could pull off a reworked gentle falsetto. The full power is wasaaay beyond him now. Man, that sucks. But I can still enjoy his 28 year old lungs whenever I want.
