30 years, 30 songs, in 30 days - 2020

Thanks to all for the songs cited over the past 30 days, made some nice discoveries.  :D

For this crazy year weíre going through, I canít pass on the opportunity to nominate a song that came out because of Covid19. And I also firmly believe that the crisis will yield many more songs inspired by it.

It feels a bit odd that for 2020, Iím giving the nod to The Rolling Stones, but I do love the song.

When it comes to new music, this year has been about 3 albums for me, so here's one song from each because I truly can't decide. In the order that they were released:

"No Te Alcanzo" - Francisca Valenzuela. It really fucking sucks that the world got hit with this fuckin' plague, because in the world of Latin alt-rock/pop music, everything was lined up for Francisca and this album. This was gonna be her year like 2017 was Mon Laferte's.

"Sinfonia" - Cancamusa. I can't wait to see what's coming when she drops the 2nd half of Cisne. The first half was beautiful, with just enough foreboding to give it a completely unexpected bite.

"Shoemaker" - Nightwish. From the day it was released, I've felt that this might be the best rock album of the 21st century so far, and that feeling gets a little stronger each day. At the same time, though, it also seems that they're moving beyond rock, packing up all the metal, folk, and film score influences and moving them to somewhere new.
