I think the big news is that the band is definitely considering an AB/Zoo TV thing.....whatever that might be.

Also, the album sounds like it's a long way off.

Oh, and there's a radio station with interesting content and I still won't pay for SiriusXM.

Dear u2,

Please don't dirty the memory of probably the greatest tour in history.

Please just leave it alone.

Thanks

Is Sirius only available in the US or can you get it on digital radio ?

I think chances of having a Zoo TV themed tour within the next 3 years are... 70 to 90%.
Easy money, high demand, illusion of being relevant... itís a U2 inc. magnet, really.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Exactly this.

I can cope with them flogging a dead horse with the JT but revisiting ZOOTV is beyond the pale...

'Itís on my list. Letís put it that way. At some point, Iíd love to do something again with the Zoo TV idea. Itís weird how itís come around. It was very prescient.'

Honestly they're so full of shit. 'It's weird how it's come round'.

I absolutely guarantee these tours were built into their contractual obligations.

In terms of the live shows itís what I feared. Theyíve taped every show from the last 15 years which will be the ones heavily featured on the channel. Theyíve done some of the best shows by any band ever when they were in their prime, but those shows will be few and far between.
Definitive U2 Top 10: 1. One, 2. Bad, 3. With Or Without You, 4. Running to Stand Still, 5. So Cruel, 6. Ultraviolet, 7. I Still Havenít Found What Iím Looking For, 8. Hawkmoon 269, 9. Red Hill Mining Town, 10. Luminous Times

The focus on live music on their channel means it wonít add much to what we can already get on YouTube.

Yeah Iím with you on this. Something brand new that reflected 90s U2 might be interesting but another nostalgia tour doesnít work for me.

I would personally like the idea of an entire record with Bono turning MacPhisto into himself - he is now what he once openly mocked. However I seriously doubt they have the artistic chops to pull it off.

If itís 2oo TV Iím not sure they could make it anything more than a big stain on ZooTV which I think is easily the best tour in music history. Mick Jaggar saw it and said it changed the game for every band and he was right. Before ZooTV live stadium shows were big speaker banks in front of 50k people and the lead singer as a dot. After ZooTV everyone was doing multimedia spectaculars. Itís historic and for me their finest hour.

If itís a reflection of the fact that they are no longer that band and are now what they once mocked, it might work. I just donít know that they can do it these days and whether Bonoís health can cope with another stadium tour anyway.

Also I doubt they can do the kind of politics they did in the 90s - calling Bill Clinton too tall to be a despot or parodying George Bush we-will-we-will rock you - thatís brilliant. Donald trump youíre fired - so obvious and not brilliant

The Exile

I'm adding my name to that signature. I tried listening to the audio of the Berlin 2018 show this morning and I couldn't even make it all the way through. It's like Bono thinks being clever will make up for the fact that he doesn't bother trying to actually sing anymore. It's gotten to the point where I actively dislike live U2 now. Really sucks.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,

Thereís a show theyíll have named Elevation.

I will tape every single one of them and hand deliver to ę you know who Ľ on my next trip to London. With a nice package and all...

Iím also sending a special thank you note to Edge for the remix show on Friday nights. I had proposed Saturdays to him last time we chatted, but I guess Fridays will do.
