One of the Greatest record ever put out by a Canadian act (and itís not from Bryan Adams)

A magnificent gift to the World from The Great White North (booze included)

A song that will live on forever on the shores of Daytona Beach.

Steal my Sunshine - Len

1999 will always be about the songs from this album for me, especially this 7-1/2 minute monster that they made the first single:

One of Yes' last great songs.

Some of the albums i love from 99...

The White Stripes self titled debut is a stormer and from it "The Big Three Killed my Baby" is a strong contender for this.

Sigur Ros released Agaetis Byrjun in 99 and "Staralfur" from it is stunning.

I am not a big Blur fan but "Tender" from their album 13 is a great song.

But there can only be one winner....The Hot Rock by Sleater Kinney is not my favourite SK album by a long way, but "The Size of Our Love" from it is utterly beautiful and utterly heartbreaking, a tender, noble, hesitant sounding song that just destroys me every time and it is my pick for best song of 1999.

Our love is the size of
These tumors inside us
Our love is the size of
This hospital room, you're my hospital groom

Put the ring on my finger
So tight it turns blue
A constant reminder
I'll die in this room if you die in this room

Sit like a watchdog
And patiently wait
Listen for footsteps
Down the hallways, visit beds like they're graves

Days go by so slowly
Nights go by so slowly
Days go by so slowly
In a hospital room
In a box built for two

I fight for air, fight for my own air
Forget all the things I can do alone
I fight for a heart, I fight for a strong heart
I fight to never know this sickness you know
But I know it's my own, I gave it a home

Our love is the size of
These tumors inside us
Our love is the size of
This hole in the ground, where my heart's buried now

Ya gotta love that!

My pick was a joke too, but obviously not as clever.  ;)

Oh man if Len make the top of the list 1999 can't have been a great year. I'm struggling here, will go for Blur's 'Coffee and TV'.

I hesitated between Len and Liviní La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin

Just having fun here.  ;)

TBH, in that style of pop songs from 1999, I think All Star by Smash Mouth was way better.
