Which Deep Cut should u2 drag out of obscurity next?
« on: June 12, 2020, 09:41:09 AM »
The fans were desperate for Red Hill Mining Town. The band delivered.
Many were screaming out to hear Acrobat, the band Finally delivered.

Which rare song should u2 try and bring to the live setting next?
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Well I wouldn't say the band delivered on Red Hill Mining Town.  It was a bit of a cop out if you ask me.

Fair do's to the band for Acrobat, surely a highlight of the E+I tour.

Exit was the highlight of the JT2 tour.

I'd like to see Tomorrow, Lemon, Please on the next tour.

Please would be great. It was amazing on the Pop tour but has not been seen since.

Well, I'd like to say Hawkmoon, but it's not really a deep cut.

How about Deep In The Heart or Drowning Man

The only problem is that Bono would redefine the song as a BLM anthem.

It's definitely a deep cut.  Bono couldn't belt it out now.

I agree that Bono might not do it justice anymore, but I can dream, can't I?

When U2 do their AB 30th anniversary AB next year, I expect So Cruel to be performed in a similar way to RHMT on the JT2 tour.

J Swallo.

Seriously though just more songs that aren't hits from TUF-era or before. Shadows and Tall Trees, Stranger in Strange Land, Red Light, Indian Summer Sky, etc. stuff they've never done or haven't done in 35 years. Also would love to see SDABTO live at some point.

I don't think they're the best songs they could pick.  I think U2 only really started making great songs from 1984 onwards for the most part.  They have dug deep from their early years though on latter day tours with songs such as ACD/ITH, The Ocean and Scarlet.
