Ray of Light - Madonna

I’m going with the title track of this little masterpiece, an album that I still listen to regularly.

It had a huge influence on my musical tastes, with downtempo electronica vibes and grooves all over. God bless William Orbit.

Teardrop by Massive Attack in another great from 1998, but in all honesty, it came to me a couple years later.

Not the best year of a great decade IMO.

Of course there was PJ Harvey's Is This Desire....a lovely album with songs like The Garden, Angelene and The River being especially strong and well up the years list for me.

From Smashing Pumpkins 'Adore' - Ava Adore and Daphne Descends were very close to being my pick.

Other albums that have strong runners in this race are:

Hole - Celebrity Skin
Garbage - Version 2.0
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
Autechre - LP5

But the peak of 98 for me comes from Massive Attack who released Mezzanine in 98....from that the stunning (and what a video too) "Teardrop" is my best of 98.
