Does anyone remember Ahimsa?
« on: June 09, 2020, 10:21:47 PM »
Or how it sounds? I can't tell if we're forgetting it willfully or not because while I'm sure it is woeful to most, the song wasn't released too long ago, and I've yet to read an allusion to it for as long as I've been back here.

However it goes, Ahimsa makes me feel bad. U2 has never been more pandersome in my book. Shit like The Best Thing may be desperate, but how U2 could shift attention from American youngsters to the Indian subcontinent, of all fucking places, is beyond me.

If Bono thought there were a bunch of multi-billionaires in Pyongyang with even a .01% chance of giving to Red/One, you better believe a tour stop would be considered and a tribute song could be part of the 'package' too.

It's the new U2 VIP 'experience'.

Get with the program young lad.

Which remix?

I have Ahimsa amnesia.
The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

I can’t remember a single thing about the song apart from laughing when I heard it.

Willy
What gives human life it's worth anyway? Because someone loves it? Or hates it? The flesh is weak, only the soul is immortal.

One partial listen was MORE than enough for me. Never see the time in my life, where i will ever need to hear that song again.
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Thought it only fair to mention, that when it was released, there was a fair amount of love for the song, over on the u2 Friends Facebook group. Not from me tho.

It does occasionally rear its ugly head now and then on the group. As recently as last week i think.

I listened to it once and really can't remember anything about it. Songs stick in my head pretty easily, so this one must have been a clunker to be so forgettable.

I have no idea how it goes, but the same can be said of California, GOOYOW, and SFS.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

I actually like the Indian bit.

Then Bono starts with "I'll meet you where" .... and I lost  the song.

Uh oh, it might be coming back to our consciousness. I think it's going to be attached to a Gandhi documentary being released later this year.
