Songs of Irritation
« on: May 13, 2020, 08:59:18 PM »
Songs you hate more than lockdown (idea inspired by JTN's post in another thread) I'll start with a few well known, popular songs that really, really irritate me.

Elevation - u2
Wonderwall - Oasis
My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Man I Feel Like a Woman - Shania Twain
That song that goes "i wish nothing but the best for you" - Adele

Trolling you a little. I do like some of her songs, but not that one.

For me, my list would be comprised of the entire Céline Dion catalogue. I live in the middle of her Kingdom, and it’s torture.

Every song on Whitney Houston's first two albums. She made all of those songs classics through her sheer power and virtuosity, but they're all trash songs.

The song always reminds me of riding up the Tramuntana mountains in Mallorca on a bus and this was on the driver's radio, along with The Miracle of Joey Ramone. :D

I like the song.

Good shout - is that dance with somebody on one of them.

I used to absolutely hate it, it was on the radio all the fucking time.

Wonderwall - Oasis. Not only does Gallagher's absolutely godawful toneless singing sound like fingernails down a chalkboard, it's a massively overrated plodder. He sounds like a special needs kid.

Ironic - ALANIS MORISSETTE (another toneless shrieker)
Alive - SIA (another fingernails down a chalkboard shitefest, it's just godawful shrieking not singing)

The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

Saving All My Love For You occupies a strange land of being an annoying and crappy song with absolutely top notch vocals.

It really is a fucking mystery to me how that turd was so popular....as you say Gallagher's singing on it is awful, it is an absolute plodder, totally devoid of anything interesting musically or lyrically - oh hang on i do know why it was so popular!

And Alanis. Everything she does is annoying but also good.

That's my humble opinion. Music I hate to like.

My life has turned into hate-living. I'm living it to hate it.  ::)
