Every Breaking Wave VMA 2014 performance
« on: May 06, 2020, 06:25:12 PM »
I admittedly haven't paid much attention to U2's recent output , but why didn't anyone turn me on to this?

An extraordinary performance from Bono. It was a chap in rehab, who isn't even particularly into U2, that turned me onto it.

Yeah the apple thing overshadowed some really good performances around that time. It's a great performance.

Would have been a number 1 hit circa 2000-2005.
The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

It is an astounding performance for a man of 54, as he was then, or any age.

He belted it out in Melbourne last year too.

And what the Edge's piano playing?  He could teach Chopin a thing or two.

The performance on the I&E tour was just Edge and B on the small e stage with this arrangement. I was about 10 feet away and it was impressive, probably not as much as the video above, but definitely one of the great moments of the concert.

This is the one that really got me listening to this song. Amazing performance.

It says 2018, but maybe that's just when it was posted.

I think it's one of Bono's greatest performances.

Ever.
