Man, that's tough...gotta think on it. I don't think any of my favorite songs would mesh together on an album.

Don't worry about it meshing, just fill it full of the songs you like most by the artists you like most - the rest takes care of itself!

Two songs I almost picked. Joy Division is suddenly cool again and that's pretty cool in itself. I went with "atmosphere" but 24 hours is another great choice

Has Joy Division ever been anything other than cooler than a snowmans bollocks!!

Closer was the first album i was ever obsessed with.

Going for flow at least as much as individual greatness...

1. Synchronicity 1 - The Police
2. Lateralus - Tool
3. Cloudbusting - Kate Bush
4. Dr. Jimmy - The Who
5. Aventurar - Amanitas
6. Waterfront - Simple Minds
7. The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin
8. Fisherman's Blues - the Waterboys
9. Idea Track - Idlewild
10. This Corrosion - the Sisters Of Mercy
11. Ghost Love Score (live Wacken 2013 version) - Nightwish
12. Slaves and Bulldozers - Soundgarden

I had the first 3 immediately, followed by 12, 11, and 10. 5 followed quickly, followed by 7 and 8. 6 took a while, 9 even longer. Idea Track won out over Heroes and the WAIA version of Bad because I wanted a burst of concentrated fury to lead into those last 3 epics. Lastly, I replaced one epic (Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding) with another (Dr. Jimmy) at 4. I wanted to stay away from dance tracks, because I didn't want them to take over. In the end, 2 (5 and 10) still ended up making the list. This whole list could change an hour from now, but I could definitely live with this. #approved

I like this a lot. Not a Springsteen fan, but with this group of songs, TR definitely belongs in that final spot. I would've put the Animals and PJ at 1 and 2 and bumped the first two to 3 and 4, but I can hear the logic of your order in my head. That 5-11 stretch is the shit. Darkness To Light, indeed! I don't do spotify, but that would be one grand playlist.

This thread is more my speed, because I don't think I could name an absolute favorite album. I think this would flow well:

1. Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place
2. Leonard Cohen - The Future
3. Mr. Bungle - Pink Cigarette
4. Pixies - Is She Weird
5. David Bowie - I'm Deranged
6. Manic Street Preachers - Faster
7. The Smiths - Still Ill
8. Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
9. Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over
10. Tom Waits - Alice
11. U2 - Acrobat
12. R.E.M. - You

With only 12 tracks, I had to pick the « safe Â» choices.

A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...
