The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

I actually rate Zooropa as the album I'm most fond of.

Hasn’t aged one bit. No skippers. Always a great listen.

Listening to it now and it feels just as relevant today as it did 27 years ago.

Holy. F**k. Twenty. Seven. Years Ago.  :o

I know!

I love TUF as much as Zoo, but you feel the years when listening to it. Zooropa, on the other hand, could be released today, and it would still sound fresh.

I remember buying my first copy of Zooropa at the Walmart where I held my first summer job. Man, the days when you could walk into chain stores like that and buy records like Zooropa! Makes me feel old.

I loved it then and still love it now. I credit U2, especially with albums like Zooropa and Pop, for opening the door for me to explore more electronic music. It also made it easier for me to accept rock bands experimenting with new sounds, like Radiohead and R.E.M.. Zooropa should have sounded foreign and strange, yet somehow I wasn't turned off by it in the slightest.

Too bad we never got a proper remastered set. Tossing it in as an extra in the AB set just didn't feel right (though the recent vinyl release sounds phenomenal).

The CD needs remastering.  Unfortunately, I don't have a record player.

I lined up at Gaslight Music in Melbourne for the midnight release. So worth it.

In 1993 I was at my first job, working in midtown Manhattan and commuting from Hoboken NJ on the Red Apple bus into the Port Authority - an absolute hellhole of a place that ought to be nuked.

I recall fondly listening to Zooropa on my 20 minute walk to the office in the very hot and humid summer of that year in New York.  (hot as a hairdrier in your face?  no - more like a steam bath)

It is shocking that it was 27 years ago.  Holy freaking shit.

I took the New Jersey Transit train past Newark, which looked like it had already been nuked for you.
