My buddy and me always wonder what Elvis would have killed in a Johnny Cash style cover album.  (Close your eyes and imagine him just killing these in his 70s)

I would've loved to hear an Elvis in his sixties take a big swing at the entire Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry song catalog.

In the 70's Elvis was already doing a ton of amazing covers. I have a few live albums where he covers Unchained Melody, Bridge Over Troubled Water, You've Lost That Loving Feeling, and many more.

If he had lived I think he would do great versions of

Bruce Springsteen - Drive All Night

Heard a dj on a local station mentioning that David Bowie wrote "Golden Years" for Elvis to sing, but Bowie had no idea whether or not Elvis ever even heard the demo, much less recorded a version of it.

Personally, I think the TCB Band (Elvis' backing band) could've torn it up - James Burton on guitar especially.
