Would be a great way of treating the fans..

If I ever got access to the U2 vaults the first things I'd go for:

"Bulldozer.." -- the song that Larry told an interviewer (Rolling Stone by my memory) was the best ATYCLB track (I suspect it became "Elevation," but who knows?)...

The "completed" Chris Thomas HTDAAB that Larry nixed.

The Rick Rubin sessions (and while we're at it, everything that was recorded between 2005-2008)

SOA as it existed when NLOTH was released.

POP outtakes (particularly earlier versions of the final songs) 1996 Hong Kong Mixes!

The early-to-mid 2008 "completed" NLOTH that proved the basis for Linear.

The Dangermouse SOI - entitled '10 reasons to exist', remember SLABT was the only track left completely untouched on SOI, there was a fully completed album ready to go as of June 2013, and with SLABT the only track to make SOI in it's original form.. that means there are still 9 completely different unheard U2 tracks produced by danger mouse out there.

What's in 'the vault' wouldn't fetch a fart at a bring and buy sale.

Hong Kong mixes  8) 8) 8)

Sadly Bono probably had the tapes burned, ate the ashes, shit them out and then had the shit liquidised and disposed of in the liffey.

I remember a few years ago people on the forums going mad for a song that got called 'All my Life' or possibly 'In my life' (Can't remember exactly) - didn't sound all that to me, but a lot of people seemed to think it was the bees knees.

Was a muffled recording of some sort like it was recorded standing outside a building on a phone maybe.

Not sure if it saw the light of day and became something else or not, but i do recall it being highly praised at the time.

The famous beach clips

“All My Life” was a song developed for No Line on the Horizon.

In 2006 a number of clips were recorded from the beach below Bono’s house as Bono played the songs at his home in the South of France. At the time those songs were titled by fans, “Can’t You See,” “I Believe,” “Thank You,” and “All My Life” are the four clips that were spread on the internet. “Can’t You See” is now known to be “Window in the Skies”. “I Believe” was “Boy Falls from the Sky”, a song which would be used in the Spider-Man musical. “Thank You” and “All My Life” are as yet not released.

All of these were fan created titles based on the small amount of lyrics and previously known information about the album.

Same.

I gave up torturing myself with wish lists decades ago. Less stressful to just see what comes up.
Are you tough enough to be kind?

Being personally afflicted with the U2 completist syndrome, you can easily guess how I would react if such a release ever sees the light of day.

The closest we will probably ever get to “last great album”.
