And I'm coming down with some new Asian virus

Doc says you're fine, or dying

Come on folks, how has this not been discussed already?  (OK, I havent been around in a while so maybe it has been.  Whatever).

What do we make of these 2009 lyrics in March 2020?

That was a mexican virus. I'm not sure in what month nloth came out, but i don't think bono is that fast. The Asian virus was SARS in 2003. I'm not sure he is talking about that virus specifically

Yeah, that would make sense. H1N1 came a bit later than when he would have written the lyrics. SARS-1 is probably correct here.

Yeah that verse is about the peace talks in the early 90's in Northern Ireland, but it does sound eerily like a 9/11 comment.

To my knowledge, the only time they addressed 9/11 is in the third verse of Hands that Built America.
