LIAWHL is underrated
« on: February 19, 2020, 01:44:12 PM »
If this was on Zooropa fans would moon over it. Creative, out of the box, fairly understated, great sounds, meaningful, does its thing and gets the hell out, doesn't sound like other music.

Honestly, it took me a couple of listens before I "got it". It's a good song, an interesting song. It can be a happy song, and it can be a sad song.

I agree - the auto tune could have been embarrassingly bad but it wasn’t - my only complaint is that it deserved a longer outro

Can't remember it all that much - but i do recall thinking that the album went rapidly downhill after it.

One of their better modern day efforts.

Like most of the other better efforts i dare say it hasn't been played live.

It was sung live in Europe.

I saw it live twice. They opened all North American E&I shows with it. Just Bono signing though.

What do you mean by "fans would moon over it"

Does that mean we would show our bums to it?

Not a huge fan of the autotune, but otherwise it is great. The fact that it was the first song on the album is one of the relatively few things I really like about SOE.

I would say, it is true to say that its not a song i see/hear u2 fans rave about really. It kind of seems to fly under most peoples radar.

Autotune is one of the many things wrong with the music industry today. It's about as cool as the megaphone.

"Trump supporters are fucking morons"
“Albums still matter,” he said to the crowd of pop star and music luminaries. “Like books and black lives"

I would not be a fan of autotune but it was used well here as an effect, and not for no reason but a specific thematic expression.
