I used to watch The Beatles cartoons when i was a kid, they played on tv while i was eating breakfast and getting ready for school. One morning my Dad had worked late and he came home as i was getting ready for school. He walked up to the TV and pointed at the John Lennon character in the cartoon, and he told me what had happened the night before that Lennon had been shot. As a kid who wasn't even into music yet, but i did enjoy The Beatles, this bothered me. Hard to believe it's been nearly 40 years.
Prince - just a tragedy.
Bowie - i had just rediscovered him due to the release of Blackstar, a fantastic album. Hearing of his death just absolutely floored me. As a kid i loved 'Let's Dance' and had several singles from that album. Ah, the 80's, things were so much simpler then.
Patrick Swayze - always thought of him to be one of the good guys, watched a lot of his movies growing up.
Larry Hagman - sad to see JR go. He played that role so well in the 80's.
Joan Rivers - her death seemed unnecessary.
