I also wondered if it was to do with the October Revolution in Russia.
One love, One blood, One life;
You got to do what you should.
One life; With each other
Sisters, Brothers
One life; But we're not the same
We get to carry each other, Carry each other

I don't know it just reminded me about the October Crisis here in Quebec in the 60s and 1970.The album had nothing to do with that I mentioned it because it was a dark time here during that period.A bit of history .

I have no idea regarding the meanings behind the album...but i do know that hearing the album, takes me back to my early teens. I have nothing but very happy memories of hearing it. It holds a special place in my affections, in the special albums section!
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I also wondered if it was to do with the October Revolution in Russia.

This is an interview from May 14, 1982 during the October Tour. Bono explains the meaning behind the title of the Album October. He starts explaining it 40 seconds in. Link below:

Here is a longer segment, better quality but is split between the interview and concert footage from a show in Holland, both on May 14, 1982:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kboUk9jzJs

This is also the earliest band interview on video. Every member in the band says something, although with Adam its like 4 or 5 words.
