I could believe maybe somebody else would tackle the subject, though I can't think of anyone who has.
But they did it in just the most U2 way that nobody else would. It's righteous (in the right way), overflowing with compassion AND irony, manages to get at the heart of a particular issue in a relatively succinct way. Like SBS, it stands right in your face and gives it to you straight.
The cracked voice coming down from the falsetto also seems uniquely U2, not that nobody else cracks their voice but it was just a U2 thing. It's perfect imperfection, heart-on-sleeve like few else can do.
And as I mentioned yesterday, the solo absolutely drips with sarcasm.
