Anyone in Dublin needing a road trip?

Maggie’s mother Brigid worked as a book-keeper for the band for much of their early career up until the late 1990s, and is listed among the credits for their bestselling albums The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.

One of Brigid’s last wishes before she died 12 years ago was to leave her U2 collection to charity.

“She was like a mother to them,” said daughter Maggie.

Brigid Mooney was a book-keeper at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, where U2 recorded their early albums, before working exclusively for the band for more than a decade. She only retired from the role at 73 – and was still attending U2 concerts up until then.

The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

There ya go, Riffy! Brigid was 73 and still attending U2 concerts. There's hope for all of us!

I'd be dancing at 73 if I could get my mitts on some of that merch!
One love, One blood, One life;
You got to do what you should.
One life; With each other
Sisters, Brothers
One life; But we're not the same
We get to carry each other, Carry each other
