Any foo fans on here? Are you hoping to get lucky with the ticket sales for the dates next year?

Huge Foo Fighters fan here, seen those guys live 3 times and it was outstanding. Sadly they seem to be skipping over Michigan on the first leg of the tour. :(

New album is solid, though. Sounds even better on vinyl.

It is a great album! Just saw them at the o2 in London last month. Rumour of extra usa dates next year.

I was a huge fan and I bought all of their albums up until Wasting Light: that's were they lost me.
Most fans praise that record as one their best but, for some reason, I've always found it unisteresting and boring.
From there my fandom went downhill... Their recent stuff does nothing for me. They're still a marvelous live band though.

I still occasionally listen to the old stuff, but they're not as appealing to me as they used to be ten years ago.

My favourite works have always been the self-titled debut, In Your Honor and Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace.

Wasting light is probably my fave along with self titled. I want White Limo at my funeral!

See? I'm one of the few who thinks the opposite haha :)

My dissatisfaction with it has mostly to do with the guitar work, which had always been exciting and original on all of their releases, but it was toned down and "standardized" on Wasting Light in favor of a more straight and direct "rock'n'roll" sound.

That's the reason I don't hold that album in high regards :)

;D Much as I love that album, I don't like White Limo. I think it's all the screaming, haha.

It totally makes sense. You can see how the Foo took a significant change in musical direction beginning with Wasting Light, continuing into Sonic Highways and now Concrete & Gold. And you're not the only longtime fan to not like it--my brother has loved the Foos since '99 and does not like Concrete. He described it as "meh". I suppose it could be likened to U2 in a way--TJT fans might not have liked the change in direction with the '90s music, the '90s music fans might not have liked the '00s output etc.

Not a huge Foo fan here, but I do really like a handful of songs. Watched their documentary on Netflix last week and have been on a bit of a Foo kick since.

I will say this, Best of Me and My Hero are 2 of the best songs in rock in the last 20 or so years.

I've long thought of them as Nickelback with street cred...

Ha! That's hilarious.
Kind of indifferent towards them but Dave Grohl seems like a cool cat and I enjoyed the Sound City documentary.

I'm a big fan. Their new record didn't do much for me but the rest of their albums are great, with There Is Nothing Left to Lose being my personal favorite.
