Bono's hair looks nice.  Still can't get used to the round glasses.

Looks like he's going for a Vertigo 2.0 look.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

I'm not saying the tour was bad - I went along and enjoyed my show - but "tour of the year"?   I love seeing U2 live but this was their least memorable show since Vertigo.  Surely there were better contenders of acts touring new material who should have been considered for tour of the year?

Yes but would they have given these awards as much media coverage.

Awards IMO are largely pointless/meaningless (a small number of exceptions aside) they are self serving and more and more these days just promotional vehicles - that is why there are so many of them.

The credibility of a lot of them is zero - but they generate social media clicks etc and raise brand awareness etc...

Fair point.  You're right - music shouldn't be a competition in any case.  They're useful for the industry as you say.

I love it, but it does seem odd that a 30 year old tour won!

It was their worst tour, still very good gigs, but definitely their worst.

I didn't think Vertigo was a great tour, but for me TJT30 was probably even less memorable.  I am very glad they're thrown themselves straight into releasing a new record and I expect the SOE tour to be a much better concert experience.
