Songs of Taxation - album delayed again, new title
« on: November 10, 2017, 06:56:10 PM »
After delaying SoE to rework the lyrics for politics and Bono's health, which also included a name change to Songs of Obamacare, U2 have again decided to delay the album, rework lyrics, and rename it to Songs of Taxation to reflect the current Paradise Papers tax controversy.

Discuss the setlist!

The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

U2 Fans: We'd all love to see that, Edge.

They dusted off an oldie from Achtung Baby for a bonus track, Trying To Hide Your Money Around The World.

That's champagne comedy!

Where The Streets Have No Taxes
A Sort of Tax Dodging
Stuck In A Tax Scandal And I Can't Get Out Of It

Come on Shank Asu, don't be so serious. Taking the piss is a time-honoured Irish tradition.

The crowd will be really jumping to Tax-evasion. Lyrics about moles digging holes probably make more sense.

I doubt that anybody around here seriously buy into the nonsensical thought that U2 are a bunch of tax-evading frauds. All in good fun!

Oh don't be so sure.

I stopped being shocked at what people would use as an excuse to bash the band a long time ago.

There are members of legendary rock bands with much worse skeletons in the closet than anything Bono could ever do and yet they’re still sanctified. U2 instead gets loads of crap for these bollocks. And they’re not even doing anything illegal.

It’s a funny world.
