The u2.com Subscribers Gift 2020
« on: January 25, 2020, 08:48:28 AM »
I havent seen it mentioned elsewhere, but apparently this years subs gift from u2.con is to be a live DVD of the E&I Berlin show. Practically no thought nor expense put into that gift idea.
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I wasn't planning on renewing my subscription and with this announcement I believe I've made a good decision.
I feel my luck could change.

I can’t believe anyone still subscribes to that site.

I've let my subscription lapse more than once and keep on going back and I'm not sure why.  It's never really been worth it.

It’s only worth it in concert years where it gets you preferred access to tickets. The gifts haven’t been useful for years. My medium rare CD is the only gift I value from it

And that very much depends on where you live....

Plus i'd imagine it will be even less useful as demand dwindles everywhere.

£30 for a dvd that would normally cost about £14 in the shops, it wouldn't be so bad if they were touring again this year,  but i will resubscribe again like I always do

What a sad confession. They just don’t care.

This particular gift doesnt seem to be filling the fans with joy. The last gift that i thought was great, was the double 10" live Vinyl.

I’ve been reading people say it’s not worth it for close to 20 years. Not sure what anyone thinks will be different this time, or the next, or the next.

I guess it’s just sort of how I view the band in general now. You know that phase they are going through that you’ve been hoping they shake? You’ve been hoping that for well over a decade now. They’re not shaking it.

It’s the fault of us as fans now. We allow it and ask for it.
