Read all about the legendary train wreck:

Bob Dylan's summer tour of Europe in 1984 would culminate in a huge show at Ireland’s Slane Castle, with the iconic singer bringing a star-studded show to the eagerly awaiting 40,000 fans for the first time since his 1966 electric tour with the Hawks. The stage was set.
With such a hot ticket in town, Irish rock magazine Hot Press sent U2 frontman Bono to interview the mercurial wordsmith. A notably nervous Bono entered the dressing room to not only find Dylan sitting there but also the legendary singer Van Morrison turning the interview into an unlikely threesome.
During the interview, with Van Morrison and Dylan offering the young whipper-snapper some advice on recording among other things, the latter offered Bono the chance to join him on stage to sing the encore numbers ‘Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat’ and ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’. The singer was flattered by the offer and dutifully readied himself to arrive on stage for the final tunes of the gigantic evening.

Dylan invited Bono on stage again the next time he came to Ireland and this time I was there. I'll never go to see Dylan again, he's boring live......

Bono must have hid in his room for days after that.

My opinion...Dylan was a wonderful lyricist, but not such a great performer.

Bob Dylan was a poet. I bet Yates, Shakespeare and Chaucer had terrible singing voices too.

Apparently he hid (at the in law's) for days after Live Aid.
That must have been a pleasant visit.
