I love NGD dearly. One of the  few 80’s albums I still listen to on a regular basis.

But WAR, TUF, JT, AB and Zoo are superior.

better than anything U2 recorded in the '80s, with the possible exception of TUF.

No, but for me, up there with Boy, UF and JT, and arguably better than October, War and R&H.

I prefer the Live in the City of Gold versions though. Same as for U2, live versions beat studio versions more often than not.

NGD is leagues ahead of U2’s best work. That’s just a fact. Also don’t you think conducting this poll on a u2 forum is a bit biased?

I'd never heard anything by them besides Don't You Forget About Me.  This is pretty good, doesn't hold a candle to U2's best though.

That is great, as are Glittering Prize and Someone Somewhere in Summertime.

Actually I have a U2 bootleg where Bono does a not very good cover of the latter. Just goes to show Simple Minds were big enough back then that other bands would cover them.

Tbh the pre 1985 stuff is better , i.e. New Gold Dream. Their first album Empires and Dance was quite experimental.

The whole album is excellent, don’t hesitate. I remember a few years ago telling my millennial daughter and her friends to listen to it (they had no clue who SM was) They were blown away.

Snow Patrol vs U2. Discuss.

Run is better than anything u2 have recorded

Bono apparently threw a brick through a window when he heard Gary Lightbody outdid U2's One.

You really need to get over your infatuation with the short guy

Gary Lightbody? He's a towering 190cm, I've met the guy. I'm surprised Bono let Snow Patrol tour with them. Bono had to stand on one of The Edge's guitar amps when talking to Gazza.

What does that have to do with Run being better than anything u2 have recorded?

I can't tell if you're taking me seriously, or trolling my trolling...

All I ever said was New Gold Dream is better than anything u2 have recorded. Most people here on the forum agree
