Thinking about it...Goodfellas is likely in my top 10 fave movies of all time. It is a timeless piece of art!

Went to see this at the cinema with a friend when it came out.  I had no idea what it was going to be about but from the word go was totally engrossed - a brilliant movie and soundtrack.  It makes the Stones "Monkey Man" sound even better than it actually is (being one of the weaker tracks on Let it Be).  Only other film I can recall seeing in a cinema which drew me in in a similar fashion was Reservoir Dogs.

Scorcese really knows how to use music to great effect.  The House of the Rising Sun montage in Casino is classic, as is the Then He Kissed Me steadicam scene in Goodfellas.

Love Goodfellas and Casino.  Mean Streets is a classic as well that not as many people have watched by Scorsese.
