Some days aside an album without a single dud on it.Their most daring and most interesting record.Probably their most underrated too.I miss the band who made this record.

There isn't a single song that feels weak or out of place for me.

Zooropa was the first U2 album I purchased on the day it was released. I got Achtung Baby two weeks after it was released. I got Joshua Tree on the third anniversary of its release. Hard to believe its been 26 years since the release of Zooropa. I remember a friend of mine saying he could not imagine U2 releasing any more albums at that point. I purchased both the Compact Disc and the Audio Cassette. I didn't have a CD player in the car and did not want to be listening to a taped audio cassette of the CD with the reduction in sound quality. Most of my friends and myself did not understand Zooropa at the time. We thought the band had really gone off the deep end when we first heard Numb on the radio. But it sort of grew on you though in the weeks after you first listened to it. As the years have gone by, its gotten so much better. Proof that the album was way ahead of its time. Zooropa was originally meant to be a mini-album or EP. Their goals and expectations for it were very modest. They did not spend a lot of time on it, but it ended up being enough for a full album. I remember how excited I was when I learned that it would be a full album instead of just the mini-album that was reported in late winter/early spring 1993.It looks like the historical exactitude police is out in force today. You never know, in about seven years time we might have a Tony Soprano moment and finally 'get' ATLCLB.//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bphku5Q2aRM

I was so young when this came out. And naive. And a bit stupid, but I meant well...

A truly masterful piece of work from the band, in the heady days of their 90's glory.
